Thanks for checking out Last Week on Social, the blog series dedicated to providing a simple way to stay on top of the latest news and announcements from each of the major social media networks.

Every week, we round-up the latest updates from Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube, and others that may impact the way you use social media networks for your business.

For the period of November 14 – 20, here’s a breakdown of news from last week on social:

Update on Metrics and Reporting

After the revelation of some pretty major measurement miscalculations and oversights, Facebook is upping its commitment to providing accurate measurement and reports for activity on the platform.

This update also includes descriptions for a number of recent metric updates, that you should be sure to check out.

Manage Updates Across Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger

In the coming weeks, Facebook is rolling out an update to the Pages Manager mobile app that will enable users to manage updates across Facebook platforms from a single inbox.

Autoplay and Sequential Video

Advertisers now have the option to have their promoted videos play automatically upon its discovery. Additionally, advertisers can create playlists of videos that play sequentially following the initial promoted video.

Addressing Online Abuse

Continuing its efforts to curb online abuse, Twitter is enhancing mute controls to also affect notifications based on keywords, phrases, and entire conversations. Additionally, Twitter is improving capabilities to process abuse reports and is improving internal enforcement tools and systems.

Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube had quiet news weeks with no announcements worth reporting.

As always, if we’ve missed something, please feel free to bring it to our attention in the comments.
